Your First Ultimate Practice in Madrid
A first Ultimate practice normally includes introductions, a warm-up, basic throws, simple drills and adapted game play. You do not need to know the rules or bring a friend. Tell the team it is your first time and bring water, sportswear, one light shirt and one dark shirt.

The hardest moment usually happens before you step onto the field
Most first-time nerves are not about throwing. They are about walking into a group where everyone seems to know each other. Contact us first and clearly say that you are new. We can confirm the session and give you the right meeting information.
You are not expected to know positions, signals or vocabulary. Tuesday exists specifically as a gradual introduction to the sport.
What usually happens during practice
The exact plan can change, but practices normally begin with mobility and a warm-up. You will then learn the grip and the two basic throws — backhand and forehand — at short range. Drills add movement, catching and non-contact defence before a game situation.
Explanations come step by step. Asking questions is part of the process, especially because Ultimate is self-officiated and every player needs to understand what is happening.
What to bring and what you do not need to buy
Bring water, comfortable sportswear, one light shirt, one dark shirt and shoes suitable for artificial turf. You do not need to buy a disc before trying. You also do not need a particular fitness level: take part at your own pace and mention any relevant limitation before the session.
